New X-ray facility opens

NHS leader pays tribute to generosity of Crowborough community An advanced X-ray facility was officially opened at Crowborough War Memorial Hospital, transforming the service offered to the local community. The new equipment provides high resolution images that can be instantly transferred to clinicians and consultants at other hos- pitals. Importantly, too, the new equipment has cut by two thirds the radiation dosage received by patients.

The equipment was provided thanks to a donation of more than £160,000 by the Friends of Crowborough Hospital (FoCH) with the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) paying for the installation, enabling works and on-going staffing costs. The massive Friends’ contribution ensured that the new X-ray scanner is of a very high standard and was provided quickly.
