New Patients’ Garden

News 2012-05

Patients and staff are delighted that the new garden area has been finished – all we need now is some good weather so it can be used!
The garden was paid for jointly by ESHT, the Friends of Crowborough Hospital and a very welcome donation by Crowborough Beacon Golf Club.
The new garden was officially opened by Penny Tyrrell, with Russell Wakefield, Chairman of the Friends of Crowboorugh Hospital, patients, volunteers, trustees and members of staff in attendance.
The Lady Captain at the Golf Club, Penny Tyrrell, chose this project as the charity the Club would support during her year of office and said “The hospital and this garden project are close to the hearts of many members of the golf club. We have already raised a fantastic amount and by the end of the year I think it will not be a surprise that we are able to provide more than we had originally anticipated.” Penny has, herself, already raised over £1,200 by walking the South Downs Way in seven days WELL DONE PENNY!
